  • Donation records — the charitable contributions, items, valuations, photos, and notes you enter.
  • Household information — members you invite and share records with.
  • Billing information — processed by our payment providers (Stripe, Apple); we do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data — device, browser, and usage information used to operate and secure the service.
  • Contact details you provide — including a mobile phone number if you choose to enroll in operational alerts.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the service.
  • To generate your donation summaries and tax-ready reports.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • To send transactional communications (e.g., receipts, support replies, and—if you opt in—operational alerts).
  • To detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

SMS / Text Message Program

WriteOff Wallet offers an optional SMS alerting program for account operators. If you enroll a mobile number, you may receive operational and account-related text messages (for example service, security, or system-health notifications). Message frequency varies and depends on account activity. Message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used only to deliver the messages you have requested and to operate the service.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for assistance. Carrier messaging support is provided on a best-effort basis and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How We Share Information

We share information only with service providers who help us operate WriteOff Wallet (such as hosting, email delivery, SMS delivery, and payment processing), each bound to protect your data; with members of a household you join; and where required by law. We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention & Security

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Your Choices

You may access, update, or delete your account information from within the app or by contacting us. You may opt out of SMS alerts (reply STOP) and manage email preferences at any time.

Children's Privacy

WriteOff Wallet is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
