What is WriteOff Wallet?

WriteOff Wallet is a donation tracker for U.S. households. Log cash gifts and donated goods as you give — from your iPhone or the web — and your annual summary assembles itself. Every donation carries its evidence: photos, itemized detail, receipts, and a fair market value you can stand behind.

When tax season arrives, the January scramble is already done.

Built for two people — and an accountant

Most donation trackers assume one person does all the giving. Real households don't work that way: one of you drops the bags at Goodwill, the other writes the year-end checks, and every January someone digs through a shoebox (or an email chain) trying to reconstruct what happened.

WriteOff Wallet keeps one shared record for the whole household. Invited members are free — including your accountant, who can join your household, see everything, and pull the annual summary without a single "can you send me…" email. How accountant access works →

What you can do

Track every donation

Cash and goods, with photos, itemized detail, and receipts attached to each donation. Everything in one place, organized and searchable.

Know what it's worth

Our fair-market-value guide is versioned and source-stamped: a donation valued in 2026 still holds up if it's questioned in 2029. About our valuations →

Tax-ready reports

Generate an itemized annual PDF ready for your tax preparer — or for yourself, if you file your own.

How it works

  1. Create your household. A household is just a label for whose taxes the donations belong to. Most people need exactly one.
  2. Invite your people. Your spouse, your accountant — invited members are free, and you can remove them anytime.
  3. Log as you give. Snap photos at the donation center, record the check when you write it. Thirty seconds now beats three hours in January.
  4. Hand over one PDF. Or don't — if your accountant is in the household, they already have everything.

What we're not

WriteOff Wallet is not a tax-filing product, a payment processor, or a giving platform. We don't move money and we don't file returns. We do one thing: keep your household's giving record complete, valued, and ready for whoever does.
